Safe Space NOVA
Safe Space NOVA is dedicated to providing a safe, accepting, and supportive environment to combat social stigmas, bullying, and other challenges faced by LGBTQ+ youth.
Equality Virginia (EV) is a 501(c)(3) organization that understands that LGBTQ Virginians, from youth to seniors, continue to experience violence, discrimination, and disparities, particularly transgender people and people of color.
Casa BruMar Foundations charitable purposes are to provide a physical meeting space and community social services to at risk and disadvantaged individuals experiencing homelessness, abandonment, and cruelty, especially members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (“LGBTQ+”) community.
PFLAG is the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies. With over 400 chapters and 200,000 members and supporters crossing multiple generations of families, PFLAG is committed to creating a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed.
Equality Loudoun is a non-profit organization that advocates, educates, defends, and builds community to support LGBTQ+ equality in Loudoun County. Equality Loudoun envisions an inclusive community where LGBTQ+ people and other marginalized groups are fully embraced by active allies and can live safely and openly.
LAWS Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services
In 1984, LAWS was founded by three Loudoun County women with only $3,000 in donations. The organization was incorporated under the name Loudoun Citizens for Social Justice, Inc. and began doing business as LAWS. In 1985, the founders opened the shelter itself—the only place in Loudoun County where women and children fleeing domestic violence could find refuge.
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. AFSP has local chapters in all 50 states and the District of Columbia with programs and events nationwide. The AFSP National Capital Area Chapter (NCAC) serves the Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia areas.
The Arc of Loudoun
When no one else would, a group of parents started a preschool for their children with special needs. That was 1967, and from this act of love the Arc of Loudoun was born. Since then, this 501(c)3 has grown and matured into a full-service organization with multiple programs that together provide a lifetime of opportunities for people with disabilities.
LGBTQIA+ staff, Family of LGBTQIA+ students, LGBTQIA+ family members and allies in the school and community joining together for a public school system in Fairfax County and City in which each person is welcome, safe and respected regardless of their gender identity, sexual orientation, or gender expression.
Pride Liberation Project
The Pride Liberation Project is entirely student-led 501(c)4 grassroots coalition in Northern Virginia organizing for inclusive schools. We lobby, organize testimonies, educate the community, and work with community partners to affect changes that uplifts every student, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, or income level.
Free Mom Hugs
We believe in the power of education when it comes to the LGBTQIA+ community. Through our programs and initiatives, we provide opportunities for presentations, panel discussions and conversations. We foster change for corporations, high schools, churches, universities, and many other groups.
Embark Center for Self-Directed Education
Embark Center is led by a small team of highly qualified staff serving as advisors, teachers, directors, and board members.Together, with our volunteers, we are a diverse group of caring individuals with a wide variety of skills and interests to share.
Loudoun County Public Library
More than just a library, the Loudoun County Public Library system provides books, service, educational programs, family activities, makerspaces, passport and notary services, and so much more.
Moms Demand Action
Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence. We pass stronger gun laws and work to close the loopholes that jeopardize the safety of our families.
Planned Parenthood VA
Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia (PPAV) is a statewide advocacy organization whose mission is to preserve and broaden access to reproductive health care through legislation, public education, electoral activity and litigation in the Commonwealth of Virginia. PPAV works to ensure that individuals and families have the freedom, information, and ability to make their own informed reproductive choices.
