The season of gratitude is here, and we are reflecting on how our community has joined in solidarity to push back against hateful rhetoric and discriminatory policies. Thanks to your generous support, Equality Loudoun has continued to counter this rising tide through advocacy, visibility, education, and community-building. This Giving Tuesday we invite you to join our community of supporters and make a meaningful impact.

Our 2025 Impact: What We Accomplished Together

Thanks to the commitment of our community and allies, we've had a year of profound impact:

 

 

  • With our partners at Loudoun Pride and PFLAG of Ashburn/Loudoun County, we painted the first Rainbow Crosswalk in Leesburg to increase LGBTQ+ visibility and safety.

 

  • We hosted or partnered on over 40 events, including gatherings, celebrations, remembrances, new collaborations, and engagements to raise awareness across the county.

 

  • We welcomed 16 new Equality Allies, expanding the network of people, places, and institutions committed to active allyship across Loudoun County.

 

  • We conducted regular education sessions for the general public and tailored for local organizations to help create a more supportive and welcoming community.

Momentum for 2026: Why We Need You Now

Despite these successes, our work is far from complete. In 2026, we plan to bring on more team members and launch the first dedicated LGBTQ+ space in Loudoun County where our community can safely gather, celebrate, learn, and seek and provide support. We need your help to achieve this ambitious goal. Every donation makes a tangible difference.

  • $25 helps host a community gathering where LGBTQ+ people and allies can connect, celebrate, and build support.

 

  • $100 provides LGBTQ+ affirming outreach, signage, and materials that foster safer, more inclusive spaces across Loudoun.

 

  • $500 You become a core supporter of our future LGBTQ+ community space - for safety, advocacy, education, and belonging. You’re helping turn a dream into a reality.

Why Should I Donate?

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization. We are an all volunteer team, which means no one is paid for this essential work and all your donations go towards our mission. Additionally, any donations are tax-deductible for the current tax year, making this the perfect time to donate! Our EIN is 84-4791490.

  

​​When Can I Donate?

You can give at any time! It does help to give by the end of the fiscal year if you intend to use your donation for tax deductions!

 

What Does My Donation Do?

  • Provide comprehensive LGBTQ+ training to government agencies, first-responders, and community members.

  • Build safe and inclusive events that support people of all ages and interests.

  • Create the largest and most inclusive allies network in the Commonwealth.

  • Give hope to LGBTQ+ students for a higher education through scholarships.

  • Start work on launching the first LGBTQ+ Community Center as a safe and accepting center for those most in need.

Where Does My Donation Go?

​In 2024-2025, our fundraising goals are to contribute the following: 

  • $5,000 to the Equality in Education Scholarship fund.

  • $4,000 to host events to bring together the LGBTQ+ community

  • $2,500 to support community partners to create safe spaces and events

  • $1,500 towards building the Equality Allies program.

  • $1,000 to the LGBTQ+ Educational Training program.

  • $11,000 towards operational expenses including training, software, storage, volunteer coordination, and event fees to help us spread the word, raise awareness, and ensure queer voices are in the room to advocate in decision-making spaces.

Why Should I Donate?

  • 1 in 8 LGBTQ+ people experience unequal treatment from healthcare staff.

  • 84% of LGBTQ+ youth report verbal harassment at school for their identity.

  • 28% of LGBTQ+ youth report experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

  • Only 46% of LGBTQ+ youth feel safe disclosing their LGBTQ+ status to family.

  • Only 2 in 5 LGBTQ+ people report living in an accepting community.

  • 35% of LGBTQ+ people hide their identity in the workplace for fear of discrimination.

  • 48% of LGBTQ+ people say they fear for their personal safety.

  • 64% of LGBTQ+ people have experienced violence or abuse.
