DESCRIPTION

We are a new and growing church in the Dulles South area, gathering every Sunday at 10:00 AM at Goshen Post Elementary School in Aldie, VA. Our mission is to be a safe place for everyone to explore faith, live beyond labels, and find deep-rooted community. All are invited, welcomed, and affirmed.

OUR REVIEW

The King of Kings Lutheran Church: Dulles South is an incredible ally to not only the LGBTQ+ community, but the entire Loudoun community. As a vendor at the inaugural Loudoun Pride Festival, their joy and inclusivity shined through from the moment you meet Pastor Wolf and his team. They are active in speaking out against discrimination in all forms - joining us and others for the Vigil Against Hate in December 2022 - and in working to improve their community with partners like the Dulles South Food Pantry, the Humane Society of Loudoun County, and others.

However, we publicly affirmed our congregational beliefs last year by becoming a Reconciling in Christ congregation through Reconciling Works (https://www.reconcilingworks.org). Question: Please describe ways in which you ensure that queer individuals, couples, and families are made to feel welcomed in your space.

Answer: Our website clearly states that we are a people who represent and welcome all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions. We are a church where we can live beyond societal labels to worship, celebrate, grieve, rejoice, renew, and discover our God-given call to serve and love others. That is who we aspire and feel called to be. It is the culture and environment we want to continue to nurture. As a congregation, we have read books by queer authors, participated in queer learning workshops, volunteered at the Loudoun Pride festival, and become a Reconciling in Christ congregation. These steps are intended to help ensure that queer individuals, couples, and families are made to feel welcome in our community and space.
